Hogs Of War's Fancy Trays FREE UPGRADE! + Senjutsu- our new game! (+ FREE Miniature for you!)
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 26, 2021 at 02:50:54 AM

Good morning, afternoon and evening Hogs fans!

Trays:

Got a really special component upgrade for you today that Paul and I decided to implement because we want Hogs to be such a great tribute to the Hogs Of War videogame.

Tray Upgrades! Each tray will now come with a clear plastic shield - engraved with the Hogs Of War Miniature Game logo. This shield will protect all your game pieces, ensuring they stay in tip-top condition forever.

Each tray will be perfectly engraved with the Hogs game logo and given a protective clear plastic shield!

Senjutsu:

As you have backed Hogs Of War, you will be receiving the Senjutsu Early Bird / Ghost in the Night Ninja for free if you back during the duration of the Senjutsu Kickstarter Campaign. Paul and I have created a real winner here- it's easy to learn, takes 20 minutes to play and provides historically authentic Samurai duelling action! Come check it out here!

I hope you are all having a great time out there.

Please come and check out Senjutsu too! Click here.

Much love,

"Hogs Sir! Thaaasands of 'em" Mid October Production Update
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 12, 2021 at 01:54:15 PM

Good morning, afternoon and evening you lovely lot!

Had a nice set of updates from Eva today (our fantastic Eastar rep).

Cards:

The Card "proofs" arrived last week and after spending too many hours pouring over them, I am happy to say that they are perfect, they are beautiful and they are ready to print en-masse.

I also want to take the time to again thank our Artist, Mike, for his work. The 'Airship Parts' art is so wonderful that I spotted details I've never caught before!

Try to spot the tiny Hog surgery!

Trays:

The Trays have arrived in the UK and are looking absolutely spiffing! I'll be posting some pictures up of them later on our facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/Hogsofwarcardgame/

Paul and I have decided to write up a short guide for packing the miniatures trays up after playing- this will be put on the BoardGameGeek page and our website in time for fulfilment.

Mass Production:

Mass Production is going very well, the machines are absolutely spitting out Hogs! (See the video below.) With the issues detailed in previous updates, I can't say exactly when production will be finishing but so far Eastar have managed to keep up with the estimated pace. As soon as I receive a new estimate, I will update you.

That's all for now from myself and Paul, so until next time - stay safe, stay well and have fun!

Warmest regards,

James (and Paul!)

Pinch, Punch, First Of The Month - Hogs Early October Update
over 2 years ago – Sat, Oct 02, 2021 at 11:55:03 AM

Good morning, afternoon and evening fantastic Hogs Backers!

Production:

Miniature production is in full flow for now! With the video below showing the meticulous care Eastar use to check each and every Hog miniature before passing it as a quality cast (Over 250,000 minis in total!).

We have asked Eastar to produce the trays alongside the miniatures to speed the process up- which would then make way for the boxing up and packing of these boxes with the card and paper elements. Eastar have agreed this will keep the project running at a good speed but it is too early to tell when this process will be finished.

Chinese Power Outages:

Eastar and many other board game factories are facing huge power shortages based around the government's climate targets for year's end and overall strain on the grid.

We've been advised that this may impact the game's production time but there's nothing Eastar can do against the Chinese government. There may be workarounds however that avoid any significant slowdowns.

Paul and I did decide to clarify the seriousness of this issue with other industry professionals and manufacturers and it is indeed causing huge delays across the board game industry (as you may have seen on other projects!).

BBC News Article on the issue: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58733193

When we know if this will effect our project's final shipping date, we will pass this information onto you, the backers!

Until next time, stay safe, happy and we send our best!

Un Dos Trays- Hogs Production Update Late September
over 2 years ago – Sun, Sep 26, 2021 at 06:49:16 PM

Good morning, afternoon and evening Hog Fans!

Just a quick update today to keep everyone in the loop.

Production:

Production has started on the massive amount of miniatures needed to fulfil our Hogs order-  nearly a quarter of a million Hogs in total!

This process should take 10-15 days despite being warned that Chinese factories are being told to switch off the power some days of the week as the electricity grid is strained. This is because our project is currently behind on schedule (please see the last update for more).

Plastic Inserts / Trays:

Eastar have also started producing the game trays early to claw back some production time on this project- as seen below in the attached photo below.

As soon as more updates roll in I will be posting to keep you in the loop. Until then please stay safe, happy and have a great weekend wherever you are!

Hogs Production Update- September
over 2 years ago – Sun, Sep 12, 2021 at 04:25:02 PM

Revised Manufacturing Date:

We found out today, after pressing for an answer, that there has been a communication breakdown internally with our manufacturer.

Creating such a complex product remotely is tough, Paul and I don't have as much oversight as we would want and there's a vast language barrier between ourselves, our rep and then the factory team beyond.

Paul and I have been under the impression that the agreed start on the 20th August was being stuck to and that miniatures production would take 10-15 days to finish. We've now found out that due to a the project in front of ours being delayed, the production of Hogs has been shifted back to the 18th September, today is the first we were told of it.

I've always believed in transparency with these processes, so I will be keeping a firm eye on our manufacturer's adherence to that start date.

I am also painfully aware that Hogs is a small product, a wonderful product that Paul and I have sunk blood sweat and tears into, but a small product that is liable to be moved around in the production queue if a bigger client demands their game takes precedence.

New Timeline:

The 3rd of October is now the final date we've got for miniatures production, after that we need to have those miniatures packed into the insert and boxed and shrink wrapped. I've asked for a rough estimate of the time for that process- it should not be too long but as soon as I get the answer from our rep, I will be posting an updated timeline.

Currently I estimate that Hogs will be on the boat by the middle/ end of October and in the UK by November.

Keep safe out there and have a great week!

James (and Paul!)
